Play - Club, Bar, Cafe, Gril
It seems the clubbers and party goer’s within Merthyr Tydfil and its surrounding areas are in for a real treat with the exciting news that from mid June 2008 PLAY will re open with a huge new layout and an increased capacity taking the amount of people allowed through the doors up to 600. The venue will also be adding to its repertoire some extra changes that will include a food service and an ’early opening’ operation allowing for breakfast coffee or tea.
Make no mistake, this will be a huge event and will transform not only the venue itself but increase the level on how people will enjoy themselves out partying in Merthyr during the week and more importantly the weekend. The plans for PLAY now incorporates a brand new ultra modern Bar and bistro situated on the ground floor on Merthyr’s High Street adjacent to the Library and will be used as a bar in it’s own right as well as a Pre-Club to the new extended PLAY nightclub above. The old entrance to the club will still be in use from Post Office Lane giving two entrances to PLAY nightclub whilst open. The new PLAY bar will offer a contemporary, fresh and unique approach to going out in Merthyr. It will be stylish and smart and will always offer a warm welcome through its doors.
PLAY will be open from 9am to 2am all week long. Play will be serving coffee and Tea from 9am onwards then switching to a lunch menu from midday providing a well stocked bar and serving good quality home cooked food ranging from freshly cooked Indian dishes, grilled Steak, Chicken and fish. The latter cooked freshly for you and to your liking on the PLAY BBQ Grill. There will also be daily specials to wet your appetite. The new look PLAY will also allow its customers to actually watch chef’s cooking food from behind a glass partition as they enter the building. A first in this area!
